Circo de Navidad (Christmas Circus)
On 20 December the Circo de Navidad, or Circus Christmas, will be held in Sucre’s Teatro Aire Libre. During the event, gifts which have be donated during the International Culture Festival will be distributed to Sucre’s poor children.

Festival de Chuntunqui Infantil
Alongside the main Chuntunqui Festival, the children of Sucre and the surrounding areas will be taking part in their own traditional dancing festival. The children’s Chuntunqui festival will begin with small events in individual neighborhoods, culminating in performances in Sucre’s Teatro 3 Febrero, between 18th and 20th December.

Festival of Chuntunquis
The run up to Christmas is a time of celebration in Sucre. The traditional Christmas dance of Chuntunqui plays a big part in the celebrations. The Festival of Chuntunquis runs throughout December with events in and around the city. The festival culminates in Plaza 25 de Mayo on 20th – 22nd.

Chuntunqui Christmas Dance
Chuntunqui (or Chuntuqui) is a style of Christmas song and dance which originated in chuquisaqueña. Each year Chuntunquis are danced throughout Sucre and the surrounding area in the lead up to Christmas.

Mask Museum in Sucre
The Sucre Mask (or Mascara) Museum is a quick, entertaining way to soak up a bit of Bolivian culture. While it is technically part of the MUSEF museum, the mask museum is a 4 room exhibit which can be visited separately from the main museam. The museum features around 50 masks used in festivals and religious ceremonies in communities throughout Bolivia.

Voces Blancas at Teatro Gran Mariscal
Teatro Gran Mariscal is hosting the “Voces Blancas” night of children’s choral singing on Friday 29th November. Songs will be performed by the Coral Infantil Campanito and the Niños Cantores de San Francisco Xavier. The event starts at 6.30pm and entry is free.
