Dakar Rally Fever in Sucre
In 2014, for the first time, the Dakar Rally will include a Bolivian stage. The rally will enter Bolivia from Salta, Argentina on 12th January, on the way to Uyuni and the salt flats. The rally will then head into Chile on the 13th January.

Folkloric Festival: Latinoamerica en tus Manos
The Folkloric Festival of dance, Latinoamerica en tus Manos (Latin America in your hands) will be in Sucre from the 15th to 21st December. The festival features dance groups from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Equador and Uruguay.

Circo Somnus at Stadium Patria
The circus is coming to town! Argentinian Circus, Circo Somnus, will be performing in Sucre’s Stadium Patria this month.

Bolivian National Karate Championship in Sucre
Sucre is hosting the 2014 Bolivian National Karate Championship. 40 fighters from round the country will converge on the city to compete for the title and a place in the South American Karate Championship, also to be held in Sucre.

San Francisco Basilica
Sucre’s San Francisco Basilica (or Basilica de San Francisco de Charcas) is an asymmetric classically-styled temple with baroque influences. It is home to the “Freedom Bell” which rang to signal the start of the Bolivian independence movement.

Korova Fest Reggae Festival
The Korova Fest 2013 reggae festival is taking place in Sucre on Friday 13 December. A launch party for the festival will be held in KulturCafe Berlin on Sat 7th Dec.

Torch-light Procession in Sucre
A torch-lit procession will be held in Sucre on Friday 6 of December to mark the closure of the “Year of Faith”.

Circo de Navidad (Christmas Circus)
On 20 December the Circo de Navidad, or Circus Christmas, will be held in Sucre’s Teatro Aire Libre. During the event, gifts which have be donated during the International Culture Festival will be distributed to Sucre’s poor children.

Festival de Chuntunqui Infantil
Alongside the main Chuntunqui Festival, the children of Sucre and the surrounding areas will be taking part in their own traditional dancing festival. The children’s Chuntunqui festival will begin with small events in individual neighborhoods, culminating in performances in Sucre’s Teatro 3 Febrero, between 18th and 20th December.
